Windows Beta limitations
This Beta installer is not code-signed for Windows yet:
- When you open it, Windows may show "Windows protected your PC"; choose More info → Run anyway.
- Browsers may also warn that the file is not commonly downloaded.
- PCs with Smart App Control turned on cannot run unsigned apps at all, so the Beta cannot be installed on them.
Updates are still protected: Hexaliz installs an update only when it carries a valid Hexaliz update signature, and the download page lists each installer's SHA-256.
The first launch downloads pinned core Python packages and an owned Node runtime. Internet access is required until setup completes. Settings provides runtime health and Repair. Local GPU packages and model weights are provisioned only when the corresponding local feature is selected; they are not part of the base installer.
Browser game sessions and headless asset previews require an installed supported Edge or Chrome. The desktop installer bootstraps WebView2 itself. Native game rendering requires a compatible graphics driver; virtual-machine graphics support varies.
TRELLIS.2 availability depends on the supported Python/Torch/CUDA combination and access to every required model component. Gated Hugging Face repositories need license acceptance by the account used for downloads. Its current nvdiffrast dependency is non-commercial. An unavailable local route never silently switches to a paid cloud route.
Remote MCP servers that need an account are signed in from Settings → MCP Servers; start a new chat afterwards, because a running chat does not reconnect a server that asked for sign-in. Servers that offer neither dynamic client registration nor a client you enter yourself cannot be signed in (Client ID Metadata Documents are not supported). Saved MCP server secrets are tied to the user-data folder's location; after moving that folder, enter them again. Hexaliz refuses agent MCP tool writes into its own settings, approvals and extension folders below Full access, but this guard does not cover file edits made natively by the Codex or Cursor engines.
Uninstall preserves %USERPROFILE%\.hexaliz (or the explicit HEXALIZ_USER_DATA location). That folder holds settings, generated assets, downloaded models and runtimes; remove it separately only if those files are no longer needed. Projects saved elsewhere are also preserved.
Clean-machine install, N→N+1 update, cloud-generation and external-agent acceptance must pass before the first public Beta. The dated acceptance report records the verified build and any remaining release blockers.
